I decided to put a couple of LED light bars on top of the roll bar and take off the PIA's. I fabricated the mount

Haven't tried them out yet, but that will be happening shortly after the steering box issue is straightened out. Maybe Tuesday night I'll get it out for a night run and take some pictures. The camo is painted, I did it last year while the truck was down waiting on the axles.

You did a great job on the paint.

I suck at body work.

Nice work! Is the mount on the forward tube of the roll bar or the rear? If able to do on the rear, then you might be able to make the mount such that you can rotate back and down to clear anything? lol Oh wait...no trees out in Texas.

Bodylift got done?

Just odd about the steering stuff.

hey corbo. I need a paint job on my truck. Just want a fresh layer or two of that Deep patriot blue stuff lol

Arent you having issues with the redhead?

Just for reference. i bought a Mopar reman from the dealership for about 100 less than the redhead. and it is holding up nicely so far. we will see how it is this time next year. My origninal stock one lasted about 150k so thats good enough for me.

its also guaranteed to be 100% rebuilt. Not just new seals. price difference agrees with that.

good luck getting it sorted out.

Yes I have had some trouble with the redhead. My stock gear box made it to 170K, it failed after the axle swap, 37" tires and the ARB locker in the front. That Locker puts stress on the pitman arm bearing in the gear box. I guess my luck in getting a couple of bad ones. I'll install the new one with the Synergy support bracket tomorrow after I wake up. I get off work at 5am. I haven't given up on redhead yet. Thanks for the info on the mopar one. I'm thinkin if this new setup fails, then I'm gonna look into hydro assist.

Thanks! When I built the roll bar, four straps were welded between the two tubes for the other lights. I attached the new light bar with four bolts to the four straps, so the bar is between the two 3" tubes.

The body lift is to happen soon. I'm thinking mid december. When I have sufficient time to make the bumpers. I've been getting all the materials rounded up for the bumpers and rock sliders. I'll start prefabbing as much of them as I can.

I don't quite understand why you haven't hade problems since your axle swap. You must have just got a good steering gear. I haven't been able to get one to last more than 4-6 months. The cheap cardone remans only made it a couple of months.

I encourage you to work the BL in first. Bumpers can still go on w/o issue if you need to drive around until starting to build the new ones. The rear one involves some lame hole redrilling. Have a step drill, but I'm sure you have that in your arsenal.

PM sent.

I will definitely put the BL on first, just want to get it all done shortly after.

I installed the new gear box and brace

This give you an idea of how the thing goes

The brace was actually for a 3/4 to 1 ton and I guess the spacing on the frame was a little different so I had to mill out the hole so the hole on the brace would center over the pitman arm

Then got it put up and bolted on. This was actually a two man job but a PITA for one.

I think this should resolve the issues, I guess time will tell
