I'm a little surprised, the tare weight on my '05 Neon with the trailer on is 3500 the last time I took a trailer of trash to the solid waste transfer station.

Thought for sure your huge and hairy trucks would have been lots more.

If they're not considerably brighter, as they should be, you've probably got some old lamps in there that have decayed over time. Toss in some not-too-expensive premium lamps along with those relays and you'll be happy with the results. I went nuts and put some PIAA Xtreme White Plus lamps in mine, and with the relays (with the power and ground conductors going all the way back to the battery) they're great. I'm concerned that if I get into a bigger town where the pigs are more aggressive I'm going to get pulled over for the lights being too bright so I keep the box showing that the lamps are DOT approved in my toolbox.

Next time around I'm going to go with a less costly bulb, but these things I've got sure do live up to their name.

I just buy the most expensive bulbs at WalMart, they work well...

For all you 2nd gen'rs, Sport headlights are great, but the late 3rd gen headlamps are AWESOME :P

At any rate, the new digs has a fireplace insert with forced air. Picked up a 'rick' (around here is is 1/3 cord) of firewood, mostly oak with hickory and black walnut, and well seasoned... Got it cleaned out and after several hours of struggling to get some wood lit I finally got a nice fire going. I was quite suprised at the heat that thing could put out - and I didn't have it going at full steam either. And I managed to keep decent heat throughout the night without re-loading.

Today I'm planning to clean the chimney... Any tips??

Today I'm also trying to get one of the bathrooms working... Gotta put in new subfloor and put the toilet back together...

Whoever built the place used particle board for the subfloor, now it's all worthless. Otherwise the house was built to exceptional quality. Most of the lumber is dimensional and locally milled (we even met the guy who milled the wood).

Yesterday I did some plumbing work to fix some leaks in the house caused presumably by the disturbance when asbestos removal occurred...

And I've been putting in some insane (for me at any rate) miles, last seven days I've driven over 1500 miles... Mostly in the middle of the night. I prefer driving at night but not when I'm frickin' tired (Translate: less than four hours of sleep each night).

Pics later.

Edit: Oh and Cummins 6.7CR rules the diesel world for towing

^^^^^The 98 QCSB 1500 weight was 5,085 lbs. on stock tires, no spare back then on the scale, empty at the quarry, (best I recall). K.

Edit, think it was closer to 5,085 (can't find quarry ticket), and quarry over loaded me, for the haul.

I have shiny new assemblies also.....

Jasonw has a good Write up already on page 4 of the diy.

Just gotta figure out my fog lights....... I might just leave them alone. They are brighter than my headlights anyway -_-

Yes -- Call a professional. It's one of those jobs best left to one for a variety of reasons, but mainly because in the 19th Century Chimney Sweepers had a high rate of testicular cancer.
