I like cheetos!

Got in the truck yesterday morning....she turned over reeeaaaaalllll slow like....so I'm thinking....hmm...been cold lately, have not started her in a week or so...looked at the battery just for grins. It had a date of 01/2008 on the side of it. That battery lasted 7 years. Went to Walmart and got another one just like it. Not every day that a 3 year battery lasts 7 years. Them everstart batteries are the bomb in my book. My question is: when the h$ll did batteries start being so darn expensive??? $125.....dang.

Drove up to Va. to visit my folks in it yesterday. My dad had a bunch of junk in his basement he needed to haul to the dump. Managed a respectable 14 mpg. Gas in Pearisburg was $2.20 a gallon. Soon to be that cheap in NC, I hope. We got these dang gas taxes that who knows where the monies going.

Battery time.

The GMC work trucks we have come with an exhaust brake, that's a really nice feature, wish the Fords had one...

My 08 Dodge w/the 6.7 and has that variable turbo. So it has the built in exhaust brake too. I enjoyed having that feature and rewired my dash so it came on automatically when you started the truck. And the kool thing about that turbo was when you were doing the high idle warm up in the morning it sounded like a jet engine spooling up.

I miss that truck............................................. ....:-( Should have told the ex to take a hike and kept the truck.

Christmas is a special holiday and time of the year for family to get together, at the very least, and it is the day that was chosen by whoever as a set date to celebrate the birth of Christ, if you believe in that sort of stuff (which I do believe that much at least lol).

But Christmas as a whole is just painful for me...
My wifes family was like that. Very dysfunctional. The dad was a mean alcoholic who beat the kids when he was drunk when they were growing up (not my wife, she was the "baby" so to speak, an accident 15 years after the first 3 were born). Christmas with them was always a stressful occasion when all the family was there. It was a warm and fuzzy for about 2 hours. Then the yelling would start and by the end of the day, everyone was in a separate part of the house, mother in law in her room crying, me just sitting on the porch getting drunk....lol... hang in there bud. Just think, 6 days later you can tie one on and forget the whole "Christmas" season ever happened. I can't wait for this to be over.

Only good thing for me about this time of year is burning up all the leave I have left over at work. I only have to work 10 days this month!! 3 days next week and I'm off until Jan. 3rd. Whoop!!

you know, seriously, if the parents want to keep her hooked up and can fund it legally (ie no robbing banks etc), let them. IMO the courts have no say in it. It's the parents decision solely. Sure they may be hanging on to little threads of hope, but don't we all? What IF everyone was wrong and she DID come back? I'm not talking about a MIRACLE just maybe a shortcoming of the modern clinical understanding of death...
