E-fan
You can make the fan do whatever you want. They are DC motors, so, they will spin either direction. If you mount it up, and it spins the wrong way, just reverse the polarity on the motor.
It's not going to make a power difference in the winter when the clutch isn't locked up. In the summer my fan sucked a huge amount of power, I'm glad it's gone.
Winter E fan allows faster warm up.
Summer E fan allows full fan flow cooling even with the engine idle.
Plus nobody want to suck a fan through the radiator.
I've had the taurus fan setup for almost 2 years now and it's been great. I had a new depo fan first, but it quit a week after the warranty was up, so I got one from the junkyard and it's been fine since. The one you want is from a late 80s to early 90s 3.8L. Those are the dual speed ones that move the most air.
I've got a dakota digital controller for mine that turns it on depending on engine temp (monitored by a sensor in the upper hose) and the a/c state. It uses both the high and low speed. I've heard people saying good things about the flex a lite variable speed controllers too.
Not sure about the Ram's radiator, but it's a near perfect fit for my Durango's radiator. There's about an inch on the bottom that isn't covered by a shroud a about 2 inches on the top. I haven't seen the temp get above 195 or so even in 110+ humid weather sitting in traffic with the a/c on.
