Engine for Torque
JGG,
I have the CompCam model# 20-602-9/CRS262HR12 Valve Lift is 0.480 int and 0.512 ext & duration @0.050 is 206 int and 210 ext. On the Comp web site they say it is a good torque cam for the 360. I am just going a different direction for a cam.
I bought it off Amazon for $316 and would sell it to you for $250. It has never been ran in an engine before.

thanks for the offer! Still researching the best bang for buck. Could you answer some more questions? Would that cam work with stock valves? Do they make such a cam as that? An "RV" cam....
Thanks again for any advise!
Reading your engine build thread now is answering alot of questions.....

1.92 are the smaller valves. An engine is a air pump, the more you can move threw it the more power. Although most mods you will benefit in the the upper rpm range more cfm will benefit low also depending on how the rest of the motor is built. If you can get the bigger valves without a major increase in price i would get them! No one mentioned exhaust yet, Any plans for that? Shorty headers are better for low end.
You can see the difference in cfm with the 2.02 valves compared to the 1.92's This is for the Indy X heads but it's just an example.

It will work with stock valves but not stock valve springs. You would need to get different valve springs for this cam. There aren't many cams made that will work with stock springs. If you can find it they use to make a R/T cam that was a small bump from the stock one. But they are real hard to find now.
Thank you for your service.
I was in the Navy from 87 - 91 . F 14 sqadron , USS Saratoga Desert Shield Desert Storm
Also, you'll likely have to redo your valve springs.

Thanks spillage for the info. I just didnt want have to get rid of the 1.7s if I go with a cam later on down the road. This is my plan as of now to improve my torque :
CAI
Kegger mod( Not sure how much of the runners to remove if any)
50mm TB
1.7 RR
3" y pipe
Tuner to tie it all in.
My engine has 71,000 and is still stock. Oh wait I did move my air temp sensor to the air inlet before the filter.
Any suggestions or comments about my list would be appreciated.
