Default 14x3 Help

I'm just wandering a few things here..

Instead of getting one of those little breathers you pop into your valve cover, where could I run the original one with the rubber line to when I put the 14x3 on? I'll be getting a little breather filter sometime here but the local autoparts store don't have any right now. Guess I would get a 1" one from what I've been reading.

Also, where should I put the o ring that came with the 1" spacer? Bottom or top?

O-Ring is meant to go on top of the spacer and you're supposed to use an air cleaner gasket on the bottom.

Most assemblies have a knockout on the bottom where you can put a fitting to attach the PCV line. Looks like this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/spe-4960/

I can't get it in there. I have the spacer on. The bottom sits on top the spacer. The filter will not go in though.
Lines are also in the way.

Seems like the body is in the way too when I try and put the filter on.

Got the filter in. Had to take one of the "built in ziptie devices" off. Is it supposed to be this snug?

Can you put the filter on the lower pan, and then stick that in??

^ Should be able to.

Also you do have the knockouts for that fitting.

If you had a body lift you wouldn't have the fitment problem.

I got it. Pushed the filter in pretty hard. It flexed and went into the pan. It's real snug. I didn't go overkill on the wingnut though. And I'll have a body lift soon.

Someone on the Facebook page said since it's a recessed pan I can lose performance? True?

And is it ok if I don't hook the hose up until I get the little breather filter? I don't have one of those pieces to put in the pan to hook it up to.

Shouldn't hurt anything to leave it unhooked. Not sure how much vapors go through it but it could make a mess. And you need a breather that is for 1.25" hole, not 1". I have this one: http://m.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g3402b
