94 318 Ram Single Turbo hotside complete
Hotside was actually pretty simple to make and cost me about $200. You can use stock manifolds or buy some cheap headers like I did. All I did was gut the catalytic converter and weld it back up and cut the pipe right after the cat. Bought some various piping with different bends and rerouted the exhaust to front of the truck. I wanted the turbo to be visible so I fabricated a bracket and mounted it to the radiator support.
I did have to ditch the stock radiator and ended up going with an all aluminum 3 core radiator and electric fan that was half the width of the stock one but will cool much better. I got the turbo oil feed line ready to go and tapped the oil pan for the return line. Got Ford motorsport 24lb injectors in and plumbed a new 255high pressure fuel pump into the stock fuel pump assembly and ran a return fuel line for the adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
I still need to weld in an external wastegate, fabricate the turbo exhaust downtube. Need to install the MSD 6btm to be able to pull timing, and clamp the voltage with the zenor diode and last but not least fabricate the coolside to the throttle body. All total for anyone interested I will have right around a 1000.00 in parts for everything. Hopefully in a couple more weeks I'll have it all together and running. I will try and post pics for anyone interested.

That's a lot of plumbing for the hot side, before it actually gets to the turbo. You are going to be losing a lot of heat with that setup.
Also, having the turbo mounted to the radiator support? The engine moves..... if the turbo can't, that is going to cause issues.....

For the sake of "im interested" how would you design a turbo set up for our trucks HY?
Plumbing the intake side would be more fun.... I think a centrifugal blower would be far easier, make just as much power, leave out the problems of turbo lag..... and there are bolt-on kits still available in the used market.
But, I am just lazy.
Think I would be more inclined to go with either two small turbos, and adapt some shortie headers to run them, or, put the turbo down where the Y-pipe comes together, and coat the pipes running to it.....
