My thoughts exactly. That looks REALLY nice. Love the color.

Does it still need buffed out yet? Seems a little bit blurred to me. Or is that just these old eyes?

Truck is looking awesome! That color is pretty darn sharp and I also agree you can paint the fascia to match. I sprayed mine w/ plasti dip so paint should be just as easy and more durable.

I think they do need to do the final touches, including buffing it.

I've got new side molding for it. I'd be paranoid about someone putting dings in the side of the truck if I didn't have the molding. But it does look pretty cool with nothing on it (no emblems, molding, etc.).

Not sure the molding help much in any event, as they are rather 'up there', as compared to most things you will be parking next to.....

Thanks for the compliments all. The truck should be all back together next week (molding, badges and all). Once I get it home I'll put the rear bumper back on.

The place that's painting it is an independent shop, and they told me up front it would be three weeks plus or minus (we're into the plus). Fortunately (or sadly depending on your point of view) the truck is not my daily driver so not having it for a few weeks isn't causing me any problems (other than I miss driving it). I guess if you want it done quickly go to Maaco (been there/done that).

For painting the truck and the topper (but not the inside of the bed) it is going to be $2400 if anyone is curious as to what something like this might cost. They said they put down four coats of color and two coats of clear coat.

It did come out a little bit darker than I thought it would. But I chose the color and I guess I'm stuck with it. I'm liking it though - it's different - don't see many gen II trucks this color. It looks good with the rims on there.

Of course now I'm seeing a bunch of Ford and other trucks in a similar color. I just didn't want them to pull the factory paint color code and it come out looking like I'm driving a silver aluminum can. I was wanting to go a little darker - I got that and then some (be careful what you wish for). It'll be interesting to see how it looks with the top and everything else back on.
