Yeah they are a little bit cloudy aren't they. I'll have to put that on my list.

 

2400 Really isn't a bad price for that. I would be paying at least that much just for the body repair required before they could even start prepping for paint..... I hate road salt.

 

So the truck is put back together (top on, molding, badges, etc.). He has to repaint the front passenger side fender (a bubble or two popped up). So depending on the time I should get it back late this afternoon or tomorrow at 1000. We'll see. It's looking good though.

 

And... finally home. The tailgate decals weren't in yet; they'll be in Monday or Tuesday (the "DODGE" and "4X4" decals). So I'll go back and get them on then (and will post a picture of course). It definitely looks nicer with the new side molding (the old molding looked... well... old).

So overall I'm very pleased. It's still a little darker than I anticipated (looked lighter on the Corvette) but I like it. I guess I'm going with the stealth look now. So over the next few days I'll put the roof rack back on the topper (came off a Chevy Tahoe), and get the rear bumper put back on. The new tailgate cables came in the mail today (thank-you LMC) so those will get put on sometime soon too.

 

That DOES look REALLY nice.

How much were the cables? Mine are in kinda sad shape.

From LMC the tailgate cables were $9.95 each. There is a left and a right side cable (I never would have thought...). They shipped and arrived pretty quickly. LMC is also where I got the new factory side molding (good luck trying to find factory side molding elsewhere).

I figure it's cheap insurance replacing the cables after almost 20 years. I'd hate to have spent all this money to paint the truck and then have the tailgate cables break and the tailgate drop down onto the rear bumper.
