Dodge The Pole
Not exactly how I wanted to take care of the rust but your right!
The bumper was on the truck when I bought it. I never knew it was an LMC bumper until this happened and I was looking for another one. I'd like to have another some day but I just have a junkyard bumper for now.
I looked all over for signs of a bent frame. Broken welds, cracked paint on the frame, doors not closing right, etc. Everything looked pretty good until I put the hood on. The radiator support and fenders are shifted to the right enough for it to be a bit of a problem. Got under there with a tap measure and cross measured. From the axle back its good. From the axle forward its off about a half inch.
I was able to get my truck to a body shop yesterday where we chained her down and started pulling the frame back where it belongs. It took two good pulls to get it pretty close to where its supposed to be. The hood now latches and is lining up with the fenders nicely. I drove it back to the shop, about a half hour away, with no headlights or bumper. Didn't run into any cops luckily

I'm not in too much of a rush for paint. I'd like to fix some rusty rocker panels, dents, etc. and paint the whole truck but I need my own drivable vehicle right now. I'll also have to tear it down again to remove the fenders to paint the inner fenders.
Since I got the frame straightened i've been working my rear off trying to get my baby back on the road. Sunday I got the new (junkyard new) frame bracket that the radiator support attaches too fit, lined up and welded on nicely. Then it was time to weld the inner and outer fenders together. I don't have a spot welder so I drilled 1/4" holes 4" apart from each other on the inner fender, cleaned up the metal, fit them on the truck, then filled in the holes with mig. Repeated same process for the drivers side the next day after work.
There are too many small details that would take too much time to explain. I'm really simplifying this whole thing. If anyone thinks this is as simple as it sound. Its not.
