Default Dodge The Pole

I'm new to forums and this is my first thread so here it goes. It was a very cold winter morning. I was on my way to work when I came to a black ice covered corner. My tail end decided to loose traction and across the lane I went, into a pole. Thankfully there wasn't any oncoming traffic. The damage looked pretty bad but I decided to fix it. I figured i'd share my progress so far.

Good luck with that. Welcome to the forum. Glad no one was hurt.

Tear down day one went well. Steering and suspension were untouched.

The pole hit right on the passenger side body mount and bent it to hell so it had to be chopped off. (new one at bottom of picture) Once I got all the destroyed parts off and made a list of everything I needed, I went off to a U Pull It junk yard and got all I could find. I was able to find everything I needed except for fenders, a grille, bumper trim and headlights. The rest of the parts I was able to get new aftermarket.

I got her barely together enough to drive down the street to check that she still drove good and steering was fine. No problems during the test drive. Drove as straight as it did before. I was very happy I got to drive my truck again.

The radiator support and fenders are shifted to the right enough for it to be a bit of a problem. Got under there with a tap measure and cross measured. From the axle back its good. From the axle forward its off about a half inch.

What a shame, looks like a pretty nice truck. I'm sure that LMC (?) bumper was not cheap either. Very cool you're fixing it, keep us updated. Interested to see what it all costs you at the end of the day

It's a shame to see your truck beat up like that, but I'm glad to see that you're fixing it up. Looks like good work thus far!
