Man! I sold my extra motor... Besides, my wife would tell me I have no where to store the truck since we live in an apartment. My truck has to stay at my parents since we don't have room.

Let one of the only 3 people I'll let drive my truck this morning (the only 1 out of my 5 brothers I would let drive one of my cars) and went an hour away to pick up some cheap granite he won on an online auction.

First time since he helped me rip apart the front end suspension (linkage and ball joints) and also with the new 32" tires. Said it ran fantastic and felt great on the highway. It's amazing how much more confident I am with this truck after doing so much work on it myself!

My new toy, an Allis Chalmers B, (the orange one) is on its way to my place. The hauler should have it here sometime this evening. I've been waiting for it since late-November.

Always wanted a tractor, so when my neighbor agreed to sell me his 1949 Allis WD a few years ago I was pretty ecstatic. The only problem is I've had to get a new, custom wire harness for it, get the starter and distributor rebuilt, new radiator, new front rubber, and yet more work to be done just so I can get it to start.

It's a PITA to ask my neighbor to brush hog my property due to my schedule and his (mostly his), and trying to mow with my riding mower is like trying to bail out water in a sinking boat with a coffee cup. So, I started checking around and was pleased to learn the Allis Model Bs are perfect for small farms. I put out some feelers on the Allis forum and a member in Texas had this B and a C for sale. I would have taken both except the C is all in pieces, plus I don't have room for it. I already have a belly mower deck lined up for the B but have to work out picking it up from southern Indiana.

Long term, I want a belly blade for the B and I may build a front loader for it once I get a TIG welder. As my oldest brother says: Tractors are more fun to work on than cars, because there isn't any stooping or crawling around involved. Everything it right there. All you have to do is use care because some parts are super heavy.

Check out this Custom Slammed Allis B.

Yeah, your brother is pretty much correct. After having the trans out of my GMT 9000 (Gravely) four times, for various issues....... I got seriously tired of playing with the 'big, heavy' parts.. One of the reasons I stopped working on heavy trucks.

Replaced a rotted rubber elbow on the Expedition, no more CEL now!

Not completely new to the 5.4L Triton but god I'm gonna hate having to work on this thing, it's so fancy compared to the 5.9L Magnum....

Think I've already decided when that time comes I'll probably just let the wallet do the talking and take it to a shop.....

Least if something breaks it's on them!
