Default Nice Craigslist Find

Just got this off craigslist from an interesting couple of guys with a front yard full of project trucks. 1999 47re transmission with HD transfer case. Looks brand new, guys claimed it had 100K on it. $900 seemed like a pretty good deal, what do you think?

What do you plan to do with it?

900 bucks for a 100K mile trans and t-case seems a tad excessive to me.......

As long as no "hard" parts in the trans are damaged, heck yes that's a decent deal.

I have a 24 valve that needs a tranny so ill probably hook it up to that, or maybe try it on my 12 valve. It looks brand new which makes me wonder if it was rebuilt or something, the guys who sold it showed me the truck they were planning on putting it in, 70's ford body on a 2004 ford frame with a 12 valve and what was supposed to be this tranny/transfercase, but they decided to go with a manual last minute.

But $900 isn't that great after all? How much would you price it at? It came from a 1999 3500, 47re 241DHD transfer case and torque converter.

If it all actually works, probably not too far off...... I think t-cases run anywhere from 300 to truly stupid, transmissions from 450-500 to outrageous....

Well looks like it will be a crapshoot for both the engine and the tranny then. (Haven't run the engine yet, been just sitting for a long while). But hey if it works it works, we shall see.

If they work as good as they look, you made a good deal.
