Default bone stock Holy Grail with a sport package.

Looking for suggestions as to what I should do with my new truck. I believe this is an extremely rare truck. So I'm torn as what I should do or should not do. For those of you that are unsure as to what a Holy Grail is, it is a 12 valve in a quad cab with later second gen interior. An added bonus for mine is that it has the sport package and leather interior. My understanding is they only made these for a few months in early 98.

Holy Grail is a 98.4 12 valve yes. Never seen a sport model in a 98 2500 though. And leather isn't part of a sport appearance pkg. Got pics? If you really care about it being rare, then it needs to remain stock.

As RamMan said keep it stock if you care about the rare factor.

Someone did a restoration/conversion to the 99 Sport package. In 99 it came with a new grille and bumper with dual headlights as you have. It's beautiful, just not stock from the factory. With a build date of 9/97, it most certainly was an early 98 but the new Sports weren't built for another year as 99 models. So not rare and not stock. And it has 3rd gen wheels. Notice the cummins decal is missing from the door? Why would someone remove that but keep the white Sport decal on the hood? They wouldn't. It's been majorly repaired or altered. But still beautiful.

A true Holy Grail is the earliest 98 models with the new interior but carry over 12v. And it should have the Quad Cab option and manual to be actually special. There's an early 98 auto for sale near me and the price is only $10k so not that amazing.

Wasn't the quad headlights, etc, (on the sport package) an advent of the 98.5 update??

Yes, as 99 models. There's no way a 97 build had the 99 update while old style 98s were shipping to dealers. Early sports just had color matched bumpers and grilles. 99+ sports had the refresh, quad lamps, and unique badging. According to allpar the 5.9 gasser also gained 5 hp. There's also various reports of "tuned suspension" or "sport steering" whatever that meant. Probably marketing BS.

Yeah, I'd go with "marketing BS" as well.

They also went to the electronic gear indicator at the point, I think.... Mine is still pretty analog. (early 98 sport, with single bulb headlamps.)
