Need to put a pressure gauge on it, and see if pressure jumps when the PCM commands TCC. If it doesn't, solenoid is likely the issue. If it does...... torque converter time.

Sorry took so long, due to the cold crappy weather in ohio an having no garage, I put a funny switch on the tq lockup wire, when flipping the switch the selinoid must be working it will drop rpms but touching the gas just barley they shoot back up, so guessing the tq converter itself is done. Whats a good brand an what stall range should I get??? Truck is bone stock, may due roller rockers in future but prob stay stock

How is your switch wired? Are you just providing ground path for the solenoid?

PCM actually supplies the ground path. So, you should be grounding the wire coming FROM the transmission. If you just spliced into the wire, it simply won't matter, ground is ground.

I did what it said to online to take the trans relay out an put a jumper wire in an then splice into the orange an black wire coming out of the pcm. This was suppose to be how to do a torque lockup switch

Ok, if you spliced into it, that's fine.

Why they wanted you to bypass the trans relay is beyond me though. Not really necessary. (maybe to avoid confusing a relay issue with a solenoid issue? Who knows. )

But, if it worked for a bit, then stopped working, still could be either the solenoid, or the torque converter. Changing the solenoid is a whole lot easier though.

The lady I got this truck off of only used it to pull a horse trailer with an id almost bet she never turned OD off, If it comes down to a torque converter what brand is a good one an what stall range should it be

I think stock is around 1600 or so. On a stock motor, I might be tempted to go up as far as 1800, but, no more than that.

Buncha companies make 'em, and you can get 'stock replacements' for under a 100 bucks...... but, I would be more inclined to spend more than that, and get a good one. Check out some of the transmissions sites around the web. (WITTRANS.com, and whoever the folks are that make the mega-viper transmissions....) Might try calling them, and see if they have a suggestion.
