2 in body lift. What I need to know?
Mine did not and it was bought new. Never have I installed an extension for a transfer case linkage. Even their directions don't mention it.
Not the linkage, the actual lever in the cab is not attached to the body. So when you raise the body the shifter sits lower in the hole. Mine had a body lift 3" so it was very noticeable when you set the body back down there was an extension on it.
I am a little confused here. I have installed a body lift on a 96 (bolted to the tranny) and an 01 (bolted to the body). None got extended.
it's low but not low enough for it to matter to me lol. Now my 2001 I tried to find an extension for the shifter (manual trans) and can't. So I'll weld a 3" rod into the shifter rod.
Going to get a front bumper relocating brackets.
But not the back bumper. As it will make it harder to get up on to access the bed. (I'm 5'4").
I did however make a piece of diamond plate to cover the gap between the tail gate and the bumper.
So the gap doesn't look so bad.
Mine is a 97. I need to extend the transfer case shifter. As it is very low on the floor. Doesn't shift very good. The way it is now.

I was just going to ask about the gap, glad you did a good job! What I would do is create a bracket to move the factory bracket up 3in from the trans. Also good thing about a body lift is your ever need to replace the transfer case (or rebuild) getting to the nuts is so much EASIER now!
I plan on moving the front bumper up but not the back one as it would make it harder for me to get into the back. (I'm only 5'4").
I made a diamond plate piece to cover the gap. Also so I can hang the license plate on it.
Was thinking on regearing it. But I only have one set of gears. Plus it seems to roll real good on the freeway. Next set of tires won't be as big. I got a set of 4 for $300 with 97% tread. There around 34 inch tires. Why they still rub a bit when I turn sharp.
Maybe I should of ordered the 3in body lift. I think that one inch would of been enough for the tires to clear. Have 2in wheel spacers on it too.
