Default 2nd Gen D60 front random purchase $100

Stumbled upon this D60 front for $100. 4.10 says the tag but I haven't pulled the cover yet.

Pinion feels smooth but I keep thinking something must be wrong with it. Maybe the housing is bent but it looks good to the eye.

Not sure what I'll do with it, but for $100 I couldn't say no. I do service an '02 2500 for my non-profit so I'll probably just keep it for parts

What year did the change how the front rotors mounted? On my 96, they were staked on from the back of the hub/bearing unit, that one looks like they slip on over the lugs, they they are supposed to. (makes it MUCH easier to do brakes.)

If it was a salvage yard or individual who deals with a bunch of vehicles, it's probably from something parted out and the rest of the truck is gone. I always pulled good parts before crushing when I ran a salvage yard. The previous manager let a LOT of good metal and parts go for scrap. That assembly would only bring about $5-10, depending on current scrap prices. Since they saved it, they made more money and you got a good deal.

The change was in 2000, 1999 was still the old style and single piston caliper.

X2 on this, was going to comment looks like a 2000+ front axle so thats a good deal, that change happened when they started offering the alloy wheels on the 3/4s because those rims will not fit the pre 2000 axles without work, front or rear

I cant see the unit bearings but id guess by 2000 the light duty 3/4 was pretty phased out

The light duty had a thinner brake rotor that looks like the 8800.

I think 95 was the last year for the light duty 2500.

I thought 98 was? I know for a fact dufactiston calipers we're 1999. Also whoever said any the rims not being the same in not sure on that, but I doubt it.
