95 3.9 manual to 5.9 manual swap
I am getting ready to do an engine swap on a 95 ram 1500 5 speed the truck was born a v6 I have a 5.9 pulled from a 98 I have found out that the the harness and pcm from the 98 that was an automatic will not work. I am having a real hard time finding an obd1 5,9 manual pcm and obd1 v8 manual harness. other than a junk yard where can I get these. I have read that you can add the 2 injector wires and plugs to the v6 harness is this true can my v6 pcm be reflashed/reprogramed or do I need a v8 one?
Won't work on a 95, it isn't flash programmable. You will need to find a 5.9/manual PCM. Doesn't matter what weight rating truck it comes from.
That said, you likely have the NV3500, or AX15 (15??) trans behind that six, it won't survive long behind a 5.9.

I did not know that the ax15 got put in ram 1500s I thought they only came in jeeps and dakotas. I do have a nv3500 and have read lost of opinions about it vs the 4500 it is all stock with the exception of a single in dual out muffler and jegs offroad y pipe and will stay that way. the plan is for a fun cruiser not for work hauling/towing. looking at the numbers 360 makes 15-20 more hp and 30-35 more torque then 318 and 318 make a whole lot more hp and torque then the v6. I have read some where not here that obd1 pcms at least the v6 and the 318 are the same just that the v6 harness is missing the 2 injector plugs and wires and pins I do not know if this is true or not if I find it again I will post it. where do I need to look to find out how to modify my v6 harness to make it a v8 one?
It's the programming that will also be different. The magnum engines were sequential injection. That means, the injector fires just as the intake valve is opening on each cylinder. The V-6 computer wouldn't have a clue what to do with two extra cylinders, and also, the holes in the flexplate/flywheel are different between the six, and 8, and not just because there are two more cylinders. The 6 has one hole, then two holes for the next cylinder, then one hole, etc. Giving it a V-8 flexplate/flywheel will confuse the snot out of it. On the OBDII fellers, you could just add the extra wiring, flash the PCM for the V-8, and call it a day. OBDI isn't that flexible.
I was able to find this https://www.2040-parts.com/1995-dodg...agnum-i361045/ I do not know if it is for a manual though or if that I on obd2 the computer as to be for the type of trans you have I do not know if obd1 is the same or not and if it is can I fool it some how?

why is every place that sells pcm out of stock/unavailable and no one has a used one are 94 95 5,9 v8 manuals 2500 and 3500s that rare I can not even find a manual harness from a 318
