Tranny went out at 97000, and now I have a cylinder #6 misfire that I cant figure out! I replaced plentum plate with a after market 1/4 in thick aluminum plate and gasket, intake manifold gaskets valve cover gaskets, fuel injectors, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor and still have check engine light come on with code po306

There's a tester you can use to determine if the #6 injector is getting signal from the PCM. I'm thinking there may be an electrical issue affecting that injector since you've changed everything else. If not, then I'd check the compression on that cylinder just to make sure it's capable of making power.
385,402 original motor, just basic maitenence, water pump, radiator, hoses, in the midst of replacing the timing cover gasket (yay). Other than that runs like a top starts without fail every time

If you haven't yet, change the timing set as well. You are going to be RIGHT there.
Everything has either been replaced, welded or rebuilt except for the actual Engine and everything inside it.
I change my oil a lot. Even had to replace the speedometer so 420,000 miles is a very close guess, my old odometer
stopped at 405,000 last year.
