Everything has either been replaced, welded or rebuilt except for the actual Engine and everything inside it.
I change my oil a lot. Even had to replace the speedometer so 420,000 miles is a very close guess, my old odometer
stopped at 405,000 last year.
HOLY WOW!!! Guess I've got a ways to go.

I know... I'm over 200k on a 98 5.2, and was looking for an excuse to rebuild the engine (stroker)... I guess not yet ;-)
However, steering, trans, TC, and axles, are all getting close to needing attention.

Default 97 dodge 1500/318

I've got 205000 on mine. Wheel bearings has been the biggest thing to replace so far. replaced water pump and heater core and that's about it.
I use this truck for work, I am a trail builder in Oregon, this truck gets lots of dirt and gravel road time. I'm interested in squeezing some more life and power out of it and would love any input. Instead of buying new, I'd rather go old school and trick the truck out a bit,

5.9 swap. No replacement for displacement.

Default 165,000 mile update

loose alternator bolt (warranty)
mystery chassis buzz/rattle in cold weather (dozens of trips to dealer under warranty but no fix)
water pump bearings (replaced pump)
leaky radiator tank (replaced disposable radiator )
pilot bearing (replaced with home brew Oilite bushing and replaced clutch, while I was at it)
rear light housing (faulty aluminum "wire" /housing in manufacturing--repaired and epoxied)
couple of taillights and headlights
faulty tailight warning
I'll update my post above with:

Rear end pinion bearing failure (overhauled the entire rear end including half shafts w/ wheel bearings, seals, etc. and used it as an opportunity to install a Yukon LSD carrier).
Front wheel bearings, upper control arms, ball joints, front brake rotors (and pads a few times, of course)

BTW, the most expensive of the Bosch Platinum spark plug line cured this little 6 cylinder's well-known appetite for spark plugs. The first symptom is a slightly rough idle and barely noticeable hesitation to throttle on launch from a stop. Haven't had any of that in many 10s of thousands of miles, whereas the old plugs would get funky somewhere in the 20,000 mi. range.

Only problem was the front passenger side wheel bearing went out.
So far my 96 has a huge 112K miles. I inherited it a few years back and found paperwork showing 80K ten years ago. Must be something about a base model 1500 2wd with a magnum.
had to replace a water pump seal and the battery.
Yes the 15mpg on the freeway sucks. But it still runs like a champ

I've returned to the states from Germany for a bit so I'm driving the truck again. Currently sitting at 195k, still on the original eng/trans, not rebuilt. Just regular maintenance.

I wanted to share this mile stone moment. Wahoo! Over 300 thousand miles. I plan on 400 until I start to baby this thing and let it rest.
