help me make my dodge bulimic.
I recall somewhere I read that RM_Indy's ram raced at 3800 lbs. Even without me in mine it weighs about 4500 without tonneau and tailgate. Id like to be able to drop that 700 lbs so any suggestions on what to lose or replace with lighter parts would be handy. thanks.
I assume you want to keep the interior and all streetable.
1. loose the tail gate
2. loose the spare tire
3. buy light weight alloy rims
4. when you want to run it run on an empty tank 30 gallons weighs around 240 lbs or so
5. Remove a/c system
6. shorten exaust to exit before back tires
7. Remove cooler of beer from bed um oh that one is for me!
this is all stuff I have seen others do when they drag their trucks hope it is helpful.

im looking for a little more agressive than that, like replacing parts with lightweight parts.
lexan really isn't an option if you want to keep it street legal. Get a fiberglass roll pan. A fiberglass hood and fenders. A fiberglass bed would be pretty helpful. Lose the gas tank and put inan aluminum fuel cell...then you could even run duel exhaust out each side. They might make aluminum a arms for the dodges, idk though. Maybe some spindles as well.......aluminum drums maybe as well....

Look into a racing transmission. I'm not sure, but I think a powerglide would be pretty light, and wouldn't hurt speed either, although gas mileage will be terrible. Any excess metal on the frame is also a good candidate for removal, just don't get overzealous. You could drastically chop the top, losing both metal and glass, and would give it that cool hot-rodder look. Maybe strip the paint off? You're gonna have to get real drastic to lose 700 lbs. Is it 4WD? If so, take it all off. Aluminum radiator. No sound system, remove rearview mirror . . .
all you gotta do for the fuel cell is buy a fuel cell from summit or jegs and then relocate it....like where the spare tire goes or in the truck bed. And then you just run new fuel lines, you can run an external or internal fuel pump and your good to go
