Default Two Newbie questions...

I'm slightly new to the Dodge forum and I did search but I couldn't find an answer anywhere on the site.. First off where is the PCM located in a 94'? Also, every morning when I first start my truck it sounds like the serpentine belt is slipping and it whistles in that super annoying way that you might here on an older vehicle. I checked the belt and it doesn't look old and I had a stress test done on the battery and on the alternator, and there were no problems. So now I have no idea what could be making that squeaking noise. Please any ideas??

Thanks,
Rlansdon

PCM should be firewall upper passenger side.
The noise could be any bearing on the accessories.

The noise stops after a few miles so its just one of those things that annoys the crap out of me. Also makes the truck look cheap. So could be a bearing?

It could be but I'd start with the belt. Get some belt dressing and see if that stops it temporarily. If it does, I'd replace the belt. Or, just replace it if you don't know how old it is. You need to start pinpointing the direction of the sound before you start haphazzardly replacing parts though.

Check the tensioner pulley to see if it is putting enough pressure on the belt? The indexing mark should be centered on the mount. Use a 15mm wrench to see if the tensioner pulley has a nice strong spring action. I hope this helps.

You could try some tire shine on the belt while the engine is running. I work at a dealership and whenever one is squealin we spray a small amount of that on there and it stops. Then you would atleast know if it was the belt or one of the pulleys.

if its a pulley you can put a screwdriver up to the bolt that holds it on and listen to the handle. it works as a stethescope. you should be able to hear any odd noise.

You might be hearing a whistle coming from your intake caused by a bad gasket between your throttle body and air box.
