PC 601 PCM internal controller failure
I have had this PC 601 code on my truck (2001 RAM 1500 4 WD) for over a year and my engine light has remained on. The truck runs fairly decent (maybe a little sluggish) but a friend said the code meant a PCM internal controller failure and could only be fixed by getting a new PCM board??? The board would be like $1100 and I would have to take it to the dealership to be programmed. Is this all correct info?I have tried to delete it and it wont go away. Any suggestions? I am sure someone knows more about this then my weekend warrior friend. Thanks in advance!
Call your local dealer and ask for a price on a reman controller. They are much less than new controller and has the same 12/12 warranty. Also at the same time, find out if the controller is still cover under your emission warranty. some states have 5/60 and others have 8/80.

pricing is for software programming only. the pcm is extra. they might can fix yours.
