stock exhaust besides the gutted cat, and i have a 360, but i'd imagine the 318 would sound alot alike.

ORIGINAL: Fox Fader

I've hollowed out a cat on my Bronco back in 2000-01 and 1 1/2 years ago on my Toyota P/U,
it won't hurt the truck at all, but it does give the tunneled sound in that area.ALSO I believe is worse on exhaust
flow than having a properly working cat.
Our cats bolt on right?
If you weld, I'd cut the flanges off and weld them to the proper length/size pipe, bolt it back inand be done with it.
A shop did this on my 300ZX back in '91-92, worked perfect.
mine isnt..its connected to the Y-pipe..i am in the same situation my CAT is clogged and i was thinking of gutting it..but i came across this and it didnt seem expensive so i got it..now just waiting for it to be delivered

That's the cat I was looking at. I talked about it earlier. Do you know if it has a place for the two O2 sensors? I couldn't tell by the info they gave.

I take that back. I didn't enlarge the picture the first time. I see where the sensors connect know.

depends if you have emmisions or not , taking the cat off mite hurt the performance some mite drop the mpg to. when mine was bad i just replace it with a highflow of course in pa we have emission laws . and if you do take it out where are you gonna install the O2 ? need another bung to plug in the pipe..and even if you do that you mite throw a CEL
