differences in sport
ok.. im new to rams in general. Just bought a 98 ram sport ex cab and im wondering what the differences are in this truck and a regular ram? by reading the posts here and looking at parts, i see that some things are not the same such as the grille etc.. anyone wanna take a few mins and educate a newbie?

well the sport is just a appearance package. It comes with a painted grill and bumpers. There is no separate air dam on the front it is one solid piece. If you are planning on getting a grill guard or adding tow hooks to the front this can be a problem. Other than looks there isn't much of a difference. I have a 2001 and that is all that is different. If there is anything else someone please chim in.

My '99 sport came with 3.92 differential ratios but this may have been an option available to any ram. I would like to say, adding front tow hooks to a sport only requires notching the fiberglass bumper. It's more difficult than a std ram but not by much.
Edit: you can check your diff ratio from the sticker that is attached to the underside of the hood (pop the hood and look up).

i appreciate the answers guys.. i was looking at the lmc truck catalog for rams and they have different part # for alot of sport parts and i just wanted to know some differences. i think my 98 has single headlights though (have to look again). i need to order some parts and get the mods going!
