Put Your Thinking Caps On**I think problem is fixed**MOPOWAR you rock
The Actron you linkeddoes not display real time data. The other is just a code reader. The third I could not find. If it were me, I would only buy one where I could go to the manufacturers web site to see exactly what I was getting.
Thanks guys...I guess i need to stop being a cheapo and just get the right one.
Mopowar I did find the Equus 3130 on ebay for around 160...did you get yours new and what ebay store (if you can remember). Should I go for a different model or is that one still up to date (I do not know when you got it)

It was not new perse. It had been open, but the software was sealed and the serial cord still had the tie wrap on it. It was probably lightly used. I believe that the 3130 is Equus' latest and greatest. If you can afford it, another option would be to get a Snap-on MT2500. You can usually find them on ebay for ~$500. It is antiquated in terms of what Snap-on has out there, but they still support it. It will allow you to do things like set idle air counts, set your fuel sync, check cam and crank position sensors, etc. It basically has all the functionality of a DRBIII except for the flash capability.
It really sounds like a vac leak of some sort. However, when was the last time the trans. fluid/filt. were changed. A balky torque converter or worn fluid can also cause stalling at low speeds.

OKlets say it is a vac leak (I knowI have one because of the ac going to defrost when under a load) how do you find one? [:@] I know famous question
[ul][*]Does the plenum cause a vac leak?[*]Could it be an exhaust leak? (I don't hear one but maybe I am used to it)[/ul]
I know about using carb spray to see if the idle goes up anywhere...but I have gone through so many cans I can't count anymore...I have also ran through a lot of the lines...I think...and searched for bad hoses.
Hey guys I want to thank you for helping me this far...I feel we are getting closer.

ok I just noticed something today also (I had to reset the PCM). I noticed that I has a little bit of blue smoke (burning oil I assume) coming out of the exhaust until I reset the PCM...now no blue smoke. I put 2 and 2 together and started thinking back and it is a pattern that I don't usually burn/use oil unless I don't reset my PCM religously after a 100 miles.
Any ideas?

When you say it dies at low speed, I assume you are refering to slow moving speed of the vehicle and not RPM. Does this problem ever occur with the transmission in Park or Neutral? Next time you are coming to a stop and the engine is about to die, bump it into neutral and see if the RPM picks back up.
This is just a stab in the dark, but it could be the torque converter? Similar to a manual transmission where you come to a stop without engaging the clutch and it stalls the engine. I've never heard of this happening but it seems like you have checked most everything else.

The a/c problem you have is most likely one of the two check valves in the accesory vac supply (pass. side of intake manifold). Also, as mentioned on the 1st page, check the vac lines under the battery to the cruise (if you have cruise control; if not disregard this).
Yes, the plenum going bad is a big vacuum leak. Checking the vac lines is just a tedious and time consuming job; each one must be inspected.
Cannot speak to the reset and blue smoke other than to say you shouldn't be having to reset the pcm every 100mi. Exhaust leak...nah.
If you want to try the transmission route, there is a product called Dr. Tranny's Shudder Fix. It's simply a friction modifier. It comes in a small tube of about 5-6oz. so there's no worry about overfilling the transmission. I had the stalling at stoplights and in parking lots problem on another vehicle I own. I tried a tube of this and it never stalled again! I changed fluid and filter and been good for over a year. You could try a tube of that. Drive about 50-100 mi.If the trans. is the cause, this should temporarily stop it. Then you'll know you need to at least change fluid and filter. If not; no harm-no foul. Only about $7US.

no I mean that when I stop it dies and it does the same with it in neutral and stopping. You can rev up the engine in park and it will die also when you let off the gas completely.
