Hell with that. Bite the bullet and get an air tool. The cutting discs are sturdier and you'll spend less time and effort making cuts.

So you guys are panning to cut out the center and the runners right. So do 97 and up not have the center divider. My 2000rt enginedoesnt have it so I just wanted to know. Is it both 5.2 and 5.9 after 97?

I was told it was '98 and up that did not have it. It is whatever year they did away with egr.

I thought this one was from a '98 (that's what I was told I was getting from the guy I bought it from), but he also had one from a '97, and I think that's what I actually got. He's on this forum, so maybe he can remember which he actually sent me (can't remember his name but it had "mustang" in his name I recall, you still out there dude?).

Mine is a 97 and has the center divider; however, it does not have the EGR. Most likely, they just installed them on the engines until the parts supply dried up or factory could change over in an efficient manner.

Does it have the egr ports on the sides still? Are they just blocked? That's all I was going to do, just put some rubber vacuum line covers over those ports (on the outside obviously).

I believe it does have the EGR ports, because I had two plugs to put back into place for ports that weren't connected to anything.

Didn't get any work done on the intake, but I did borrow an air driven grinder that should make quicker work of it them my dremel would. Will keep you posted when I make some progress.

Good move. I took my intake to the machine shop, and in 40 minutes he had everything I had cut down all smoothed out with his air tools.

Ya, I think it will work good. My compressor can handle it, I just never had the tools to go with it. Need to get an impact wrench one of these days too.
