Steve, that is 1" measured from where? I assume the runner edge closest to the center of the intake (not the sides). Then cutting the sides at an angle to match the current angle. Is that your understanding?

Have you looked at the pics of how I did mine? I measured one inch down from the highest point of the runner (meaning on the inside of the intake) and made a mark. I did this on both sides of the runner and connected the two marks. I then free handed up the side of each runner to make a clean angle to the outside edge.

have a look at this pic... you can see the cut mark on the far pair of runners... basiclly what Gary said, measure 1" down from the tallest point, then taper it back to the outside wall of the manifold.

That kinda looks like 1" will take it almost all the way down flat with the adjacent runner. Think that is too much?

Ehh, only on the sides. I remember when I was doing mine there were links posted up as to what the guys on the Dodge car side were doing for their Avengers. They cut the runners down all the way, which I seriously think is not going to cause a problem for you.
