i checked in my catalog...the richard petty edition is an "appearance only" package. dodge has not had a factory blown truck in the last 20 years, if ever. the pictures posted do not have a SC in them. all i see is the factory turtle plenum and a serp belt.

it Is a nice truck...but the petty editions were nothing more than a body kit, and dual exhaust...with some decals...

Thx mop, and ill get a picture of the sc soon i guess, as for mr.badstrat know it all... As for your catalog it can suck my big white ***** (under my trailer hitch), i think it was a dealer add on as sum1 said b4, i also found the list of things on the truck under the hood (is there a name for this list?) it has "sport package" on it, so the pic of the sc will be coming to an attachment near u! In other news i smoked my friends bmw 3 series or wutever today, it was aweomse!

im an accountant for a dodge dealership...every part that is available, by model year, is in that catalog...and when i searched, amazingly, in model year 1996 and 1997, Chrysler Star Parts, which is required for use by all five star dealers in the country, doesnt list a supercharger....which means that there WAS NO factory supercharger on any vehicle sold by DCX that year, neither factory nor add-on accessory.

that also means you should bend over, and let whoever told you that your truck was factory blown and had 400 hp, finish screwing you..because they might not be done yet.

check your facts junior.

but it is a nice truck...

Whoa dude. That's pretty harsh. Since you want to play that way here goes.

If I had a BS flag I'd be waving it now. If you were told that truck had a SC on it when you bought it, you were lied to. There is NO WAY the stock air box will hold positive pressure from even a low pressure SC. You have a stock air box on your truck. From the pictures you provided you can even see the gaps where the 2 halves come together. You said the SC was mounted low on the engine, how convenient. I suppose they ran the pressure tubing up into the wheel well so it could pressurize the intake tube and box. Oh let me guess, they just left that stuff on there to cover up the tubing so knowbody would know.

Nice truck, but not SC'd. Sorry.

and..wouldnt the intake pressure from the blower collapse the top of that air box and suck that rubber intake tube shut??

No it would blow it apart. Positive pressure is on the inside.

Looks like I have got some bs started on this topic. Good to hear all the input good and bad. As soon as possible, I will shoot some pics of the Richard Petty Dodge that got all this started and see what kind of input that will bring. We will run them when the boss gets back from vaction.[]
