Gutted cat gave me MORE POWER
The gains from gutting a catalytic converter vary greatly from none at all to huge, it all has to do with what vehicle it's on, how many cats are on it and gutted and what condition they are in. The older the vehicle the more restrictive the cats are, but modern cats only rob you of a couple horsepower which you won't notice. The condition ofthe catalytic converter is the greatest factor in it's impact on performance, so a vehicle that's just a few years old yet has lots of miles on it can gain back a lot ofpower that has been lost due to a clogged catalyst. This is more a case of restored power than it is gained power though.
68ChevelleDude,
I do not see anywhere in the sig where he lists any of what is listed as beingperformance modifications even though some obviously are. Most list their vehicles and what has been done to them which often times lists appearance, performance and audio/video mods, not just performance mods. Others have quotes or other completely non-automotive related items. Ragging on someone just because they list modifications that are not performance oriented in their sig is senseless and you madethe assumption that he was listing it as a performance modification. In the future you might want to ask them about it instead of assuming and flaming. There are far more tactful and less abrasive ways to get ones point across and the way your doing it is that of someone who is here only to flame and cause problems.
