Default Electric cooling fans

I have a 99 ram 5.9 (gas) wondering if anyone has any info on electric cooling fans, If you have installed one or know where to pick one up that will fit the truck without building a schroud for them Thanks.

A search on terms like "Viper Fan" and "Lincoln Mk" or "Taurus fan"
will turn up many many posts with info.

Here's a good weblink with more reliable info than most:

Don't forget to make sure your alternator is up to the task.

The GM HRR fan is relatively cheap brand new and has gotten good reviews.

3% gain is about the ballpark for the MPG improvement at highway speed so don't expect miracles.

Well, I can't tell you off hand which fan will be best for your application, but I recently did a write-up on fan installation in the tech forum that might help you with some of the other details.

Flex-a-lite makes the best aftermarket fan setupsIMO. They're very simple to install andcome with pretty good instructions. They also don't pull huge amps like some of thefansthat were made for other vehicles.

I not saying that the Lincoln, Viper, Ford Winstar, GMC, and others aren't good, they're just not as plug and play as the flex-a-lite setups.

Agreed, I am going to be ordering the setup RM-Indy has this winter hopefully I guess they actually do make quite a difference when looking for speed, plus it is cool that they go on only when the engine gets to a certain temperature, meaning they don't run all the time.

Yup, running them now. 16" puller 14" pusher with the flex-a-lite controller.
