I aint been here long but I like 20Dodge simply because we are asking questions all the time lol. written words can be takin variably from different people simply because we all use our words different. like i always say punk or dork, or some kind of harsh word, but once you get to know me you just kind of adjust that i don't mean anything by it. if anything i like to make fun of the fact people get upset. but anyway, i did start this about tips. Exhaust tips, not moral tips.

I had wished flowmaster made bigger tips, but they don't really offer a large variety of tips, it's suprising considering they make so many badass mufflers. I figured magnaflow was the next coolest thing to flowmaster, but it would have been all mighty righteous had flowmaster made the tips I had, but dont matta, nobody even looks lol. But yes, the bigger the tip, the better echo it has. I've experienced with kinds of tips, and these ones I run now really make the system bark xtra. Going from 2.5" piping to a sudden 4" exit is just like a drastic change, so it's a lot of force being pushed through them, and makes some really cool noises, love it. Who wouldnt want to maximize their system to its fullest potential ya know? Tips look sweet, show you know what your doing, ppl appreciate them and are like magneted towards looking at them ahaha, and they make a nice cool echoing touch to the system, gotta love it

I agree. I think tips just set off the whole exhaust system. To me, when someone's truck drives by and sounds good, I tend to look toward the back, I don't know why, but I guess it's where I expect the sound to actually be coming from. Like the other day at the gas station I was pulled up next to a 3rd gen Ram with a 4.7 I believe and when he cranked it up, it sounded decent so as he pulled away I looked at the back, and he had no tips, so I'm not sure what kind of setup he had, but it would've been better (IMHO) if he would've had some nice tips hanging out the back. It's probably just personal preference, but I think they look better and add a better tone as well. I run 3.5" tips on mine and I think they look great. the only one's I don't like are the ones that are like 10in that you see on some diesels, but that's what you do with a diesel. Also, wouldn't it be cool if Flowmaster made Headers too? Then you could have a completely complete Flowmaster system.

HAHA dude me too! I always just levitate my eyed toward the rear of the vehicle or like before the tire, I'm ALWAYS LOOKING haha! I just know somebody wants to race when they have pipes coming out, they just like get so rubbed off when they see my truck and they just want to go, and then I fricken burn 'em even with the goofy 35" tires. But yeah I'm the same, I love looking for tips. I also hate it when ppl put mufflers on their trucks but don't like do anytihng else, they leave the stock piping, so there is still the big ugly rusty pipe coming out of the truck, and im just like is it an exhaust leak, or is it intentional hah! When you have tips ppl know its like an intentional sound, and they know you knew what you were doing, its adds goodies to the trucks appearance, and there fun to clean haha. But yeah that'd be sw8t if flowmaster made headers and more tips, ahhhh id be in paradise lol

Tips look good when taken care or properly, luckily the previous owner of my truck did. and i ahve 3/3.5in chrome tips straight back, personally i dont care of the angled, but thats just me it depends on the truck.

but saying that i have always loved the turned down tips, i think its awesome when you pull up beside someone and the whole ground shakes because there exhaust is effing loud and pwoerful it vibrates everything around it, and i would like that feeling from my truck. ive always said once my tips rust(whichi wash them at least every other week) i would get turndowns and make it louder.

my tips do rattle a bit when in gear so thats annoying, and they ahve caused a very small rubbing and rust on my back bumper.

To 85gt, yes, whatever size piping you have is what you'll want for the inlet size of the tip. Then get however big ud likethe tip to be (3-3.5")
