my unce recommended this shop to me...they are very good and very reasonable (plus He does welding work for them sometimes)....I bought the yukon master bearing install kit but not including that he said about $650 plus tax with 5-5 1/2 hrs labor....after going to the dealership and ordering everything....

I'm finding this out as I'm reading about them but I'm strapped and lockers are pricey so I'm having it rebuilt....
This explains the slight hopping I was sometimes experiencing in turns....(kinda felt like I was in four wheel when turning at slow speeds sometimes)

Well can't you just get a new install kit?

Just one little thing to keep in the back of your head since you are getting it rebuilt.

Don't let any tech ever ever ever tell you that AM gears and parts should whine. That signifies an issue, and they are too lazy to fix it. Usually the lash is out of whack.

i changed the rear diff fluid yesterday lol...there was no shavings on the magnet. fluid was quite clean. (4.10 gears were installed at 163K, truck has 195K now)
Gears are not chewed nor have any out of the ordinary wear marks.

and when i peel out in sand/pavement, its one tire...very faint on the other tire. Pass. side is the constant moving tire.
when tranny was replaced i think it was non-lsd
