Don't let any tech ever ever ever tell you that AM gears and parts should whine. That signifies an issue, and they are too lazy to fix it. Usually the lash is out of whack.
no the mechanic went for a ride with me and he heard the whine and said it sounded like a bad pinion bearing....I know the backlash can be finicky and require special tools ...thats why I didnt do it myself....this is the first Time I've had to take it to a shop....At least my 4.56 gears are still in good shape!.... man I got to win the lotto or something now.... been working on some of the pile of computers today I have to repair for people to raise some extra $$ for this...

Gears are not chewed nor have any out of the ordinary wear marks.

and when i peel out in sand/pavement, its one tire...very faint on the other tire. Pass. side is the constant moving tire.
when tranny was replaced i think it was non-lsd
the LSD is inside the differential and has nothing to do with the tranny FYI.

looks like this

yes but i havent dug into internals. ive tought myself everything i know. ive never don a job with requiring to do something with an LSD. Im ot certified, and have been in the garage for little over a year.
im the type of person that if you show me something that needs to be fixed, ill get it fixed one way or another. Im trying to learn alot more stuff, for Mechanics is my passion.

nothing wrong with that...theres a lot to pick up and experience is the best teacher and if you havent had to work on one yet, well......I know from experience I'm the Lead Technician for the national service company I work for
I sometimes have to fly around to help fix something that the local tech has either just never had to do since school or he may not have even been trained on....yet there are other machines he (or she ) may be able to teach me a thing or two just because of more experience on something....its almost impossible to be a guru on everything....Especially when your young...

and no on the front lsd question.....the job of an lsd is to lock both wheels together but still allow some slack (or limited slip) for them to move independantly of each other for turning when one wheel should move slower than the other. Think about it? how can that be done at the tranny?
