Yeah, I had the straight pipes for a couple of weekends w/o cats, and it was way loud. I almost felt bad driving past people's houses going uphill, almost. I have the true duals now with 2 super 44's and I think it sounds great so I think you'd be happy with a similar setup as well. It still makes plenty of well-tuned noise for your listening pleasure, and would sound excellent as well through a tunnel.

Blkbaretta says it right too. If you want that loud noise along with a "signature" tone, go with the 44. I think it just makes sense. It gives your system a personality. Straight pipes are loud, but they are all over the place (granted some people prefer that). I just think it sounds a little silly when it's just slapping everywhere. I love the sound of a LOUD *** system, yet tamed with a consistent flow pattern that just makes your spine shiver the way it crackles like a tin can between shifts...mm. Flowmaster did a great job on the SUPER 44. The only thing I will say is that the 44 is hard to gauge with different trucks. I put a SUPER 44 on my 5.9 Ram, and it is INCREDIBLE. Then I had my cat gutted, and jesus christ, it just sounds like a fricken cigarette boat, and I just love it. BUT, I remember when my brother was running a true dual with the two super 44's on his 7.5L F-350. You'd think it'd blow my truck's tone out of the water, but for some reason it just didn't have bite. We got so sick of it, we removed them and put dynomax bullets on it which smartened it up reaaal good, and we love it. But you own a dodge, you'll love the SUPER 44s, especially if you aren't running cats...oooph it's magic.

lmao i know i kinda got the idea for that settup from you. i heard ur videos then youtubed every super 44 vid and im in love. it sound wicked. im not a flowmaster fan but i love these. ya right now i scare people drivin around town. just hammer it from a stand still and watch the people jump. will it sound the same as urs ,, ive got the 5.2 i assume it should? also it sounds like open headers now with my cats, so will taking them off make much more of a sound diff once i put the 44s on? im thinkin ill just put em on then see , then gut the cats?

edit: should i get offset inlet outlet or center? i have my pipes exiting out infront of the passenger? i dont know what would be bette? mounting then standing up might be a little awkward i just cant picture how much space is under there and its snowing out so im not gonna go check:P

Well if you are running a true dual, they'll most likely have to be side by side in the upright position. I would think they'd both need to be center inlets/center outlets. That's what my brother had for his true dual, and that's what all the exhaust shops suggested he did was that. But yes, she will be loud even though it's a 5.2L. Also, having the cats gutted makes a big differance. Before I had my cat gutted it was loud, but once it was gutted, it gave it that extra rasp along with that cigarette boat idle, it's just amazing. Im buying long tube headers tomorrow as well, yeah, it's going to be disgusting lmao!

Im curious to seeing how your truck sounds with the long tubes, and how you liek the power with the long tubes...

Im getting long tubes soon, along with a straight through cat and complete custom pipeing (even though it is now except like 2 feet of it).
Im almost considering getting a 50 series with the long tubes and staight through cat.
My friends durango 5.9 R/T sounds built as hell just with his 50 series... Although I think there is somthing done to it unlike what he says considering it runs low to mid 14's in the 1/4 mile.

Yeah dude I'm wicked curious too! It seriouslly already sounds like its cammed at idle, and it's just so loud. I think with those long tube headers the 3" matching y-pipe, it's just going to sound insane. I can't wait to feel the new horsepower gains. I remember when I had the neon and I put a longtube header on it, and it just did NOTHING for low end. But now since I'm working with a real engine, I can't wait to see how the headers will react to this truck, ahhh! I'm buying them tomorrow finally, cant wait!
