Default Upgrading my truck

Hi, i'm a typical teenager wanting to get as much horsepower of their truck as possible. and i was wondering. What are good ways to increase hp?.. i've heard of turbonators, and do not know if they really work, and i can not afford a supercharger. I was looking at performance chips on ebay and they seem too cheap to be real. Also i was thinking about a cold air intake since my truck is 2x4 and i dont take it off roading. So what are some good ways to increase hp without going overboard on money?

for one.. turbonators or whatever they call that crap and DONT WORK. also specs about ur truck would help alot..ill try and be the nice one but just use the search button on the top to look for ideas, some things you can try to look up would be exhaust change (catback also headers and free flow or gutted cat), round air filter, new gears, the list goes on and on..

Round 14x3aircleaner is a good bang for your buck mod. Also 1.7 roller rockers. 50mm throttle body.

roller rockers are the things that open the valves, take the valve cover off and voila there right there bro. you can get the air cleaner anywhere bro, summit, jegs, even like part source or whatever .

I was in Autozone the other day, and they had a generic 14x3 chrome air hat and the Edelbrock one. Cost ya around $26 and $30 respectively.

They also carry the K&N filter to go with the cleaner, I believe it was around $50. Can't remember the part number, but they should be able to tell you what filter number you need.

Keep in mind you'll need to do a bit of custom work with the 14x3 cleaner. Search the forums or take a look at the DIY section. I believe its in there.

You don't needto do any custom work. It's a cinch. Some people move the wiring harness, but it's not necessary. The only thing you need to do is bend a threaded rod and screw it into your throttle body (the hole is already there) and you're good to go.

The only other peice you need is a stand alone breather to pop into where the old one that was connected to the airbox goes.
