Does anyone know the name of the two electric sensors near the front of the intake manifold? The one right next to my thermostat is broken, I think it maybe the temp sensor, but don't know. I need to replace it. I figured I might as replace all the sensors while I was at it, but I really only NEED the one right next to the thermostat.

Will try to take a picture of it tomm.

The gaskets don't come with the plenum kit?
The two small gaskets for the front and the back came with the kit, as did the belly pan gasket. But i'm not seeing a gasket for the sides in the kit. I'm sure I can get one from the dealer.

There are two head to intake gaskets, a left and right side. Basically like the header gaskets (metallic) but wider due to the surface area. You might want to take an exacto knife to the inner head punch outs in the new gaskets to make sure they are flush with the side of the head so you don't screw up your airflow going into the head. That old gasket material is the crap that you'll really have watch and keep out of the lifter valley when you scrape the heads with the intake off. See if you can get a set of felpro's from the local parts store. Dealership will bend you over you for them.

You aint kidding. They wanted almost $60 for those gaskets at the dealership. I picked up a set of Felpro's at Napa for $34. I was suprised that they weren't included in the kit. I checked the Hughes site, and they are not in their kit either.

Another couple of quick question for you all.

1) The directions that came with the APS kit says to use either Ultra Copper RTV or The Right Stuff on the plenum gasket. Those are very different sealants with very different heat ranges (700 degrees for Ultra Copper, 450 for The Right Stuff). Not sure I agree that they are equal like that. Anyone have a preference of one versus the other? I'm leaning toward the higher temp Ultra Copper, but have heard good stuff about The Right Stuff.

2) Something occured to me that isn't normally address in other write-ups for plenum repairs. I'm going to have to transfer everything from my stock intake to the modded intake. This was obvious from the beginning, but makes me think of a few things that need to be considered in a little more detail. Like for example, i'll need to remove and reinstall the IAT. Should I put anything on the threads (antisieze, or teflon tape or anything)? Should I just get a new one just for the sake of preventative maintenance?

3) Next to the themostat opening in the spare intake manifold i'm modding are two threaded holes. One is for the heater hose that goes to the core, and the other is the coolant temp sensor hole. Wondering how these will transfer from my manifold to this spare. Specifically, if I were just reusing my intake manifold, I would just undo the hose clamp and pull the heater hose up and off. But using this other intake, i'm going to have to not only remove the hose like that, but also whatever housing that is screwed into the intake manifold (whatever that hose slips over). Hope it unscrews easy so I can install it on my spare intake. I couldn't find any pictures of it in the service manual, so not even sure what it looks like once you have the heater hose pulled. And same question about the coolant temp sensor that I had for the IAT, should I just replace as preventative maintenance? Anything on the threads?

So good news and bad news:
Good news is, I picked up new IAT and CTS sensors today from Napa (way better price then the dealership). Also found out that the housing where the heater hose connects to the manifold is Chrysler Part 55035944 and is called a heater nipple inlet. Unfortunatly, no one in the state has one in stock. But, based on the description, it sounds like I could just get something at any parts store (they carry all sorts of sizes), or even homedepot or Lowes. Just need to figure out what the diameter is and the thread measurement. Anyone happen to know. I'd like to get one ahead of time so I can have it installed already and not have to rely on getting the one out of my current manifold, or having to go get one while i'm in the middle of the swap on Saturday. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is the bad news though. I was looking under the hood last night to see if I could tell the size of that inlet, and noticed what looks like a leak in my driver side header. It is right at the collector where the primaries come together. I'm thinking i'll dab a glob of exhaust putty on it until I can get a new set of headers. Maybe 20DodgeNeon00 will have had enough with his and just send them my way.

I think you inadvertantly answered my question as to what the two sesnors on the intake were called, and you say Napa had them? Price?
My CTS sesonsr broke in two and the other, well I too like to replace sensors whenever possible. I was going to replace the injectors untill I saw how expensive they were, just doing the O-rings like you.

Heck I printed out pictures of your engine to use in reference, you definetly have one of the cleanest engine bays. I feel bad for "jocking your style" but I am rarely in Colorado. lol

I lucked out on the heater inlet nipple, the Water pump has one in it and when I bought my new water pump it came with two, so I lucked out there.

I was going to put up a thread with picks asking for the names of the three parts you listed here. I need to stop by napa anyway, but I wonder if advance has the parts also.

I got the CTS from Napa for $13.99 (dealer wanted $50.10), and the IAT for $48.99 (dealer wanted $63.08).

Still looking for some measurments on the heater inlet if anyopne has them (and a pic of what it looks like incase it is more then just a simple threaded fitting). The parts stores have them for less then $5, just need to know what the thread size is, its diameter, and how tall it is. I might just take my manifold in to Napa tonight and figure out what one will thread in it, and what one is the same diameter as the hose. I was just hoping to find out online though so I didn't have to haul the intake around and so I could just stop on my way home from work instead of having to go home to get the intake first.
