Default quarter mile time

I was just wondering what you guys think would shave the most off my quarter mile timebetweena superchips tuner, or a detroit truetrac. I think both are similar in price. My best time so far is a 17.05 at about 80mph spinning my rear tire on the launch, because of the open differential. I tried it in 4WD, but it sucked the power out at the top end for like a 17.4 second pass. Thanks.

what was your 60 foot time? a posi type unit like the "truetrac" won't really help severe traction issues. it will alleviate them a bit but your best bet for traction would be a set of STICKY TIRES or TIRE! adding power will help you on the top end but you wont see a major decrease in ET unless you learn to launch properly, and you control tire spin. if it were my truck, id first make sure i removed unnecessary items from the truck, then id start with getting traction before i added any power. why areyou only limiting yourself to those two products?

best 60foot was like a 2.80. I just figured superchips is a fairly cheap way to add power and change things such as rev limiter, and the truetrac would get both tires power to eliminate the spinning. Both products are about 400-450 dollars.

2.80. wow. well id forego any power adder just yet. first, id say that your launch is in need of some help. ease into the throttle. im sure you are easing into it, but ease into it MORE. a cheap way to increase traction is to throw a bag of dirt or concrete mix or anything over each rear wheel or axle. since you only have an open rear, throw a bag or two over the one wheel. it does add weight, but the traction increase will show to be worth it. id check into some ladder bars or traction bars for your truck as well as a set of slicks. a posi type differential is always more fun and it does increase traction, but not by huge amounts.

get it to hook, then morepower. get it to hook again, then add power again. wash, rinse, repeat.

Why are you drag racing a 4WD Dodge anyway? Go find some mud.

I wouldn't waste the money on a true-trac when a detroit locker doesn't cost that much more, and it will work alot better.
