I was trying to figure out a setup that doesn't make the cab sound like a dragstrip. I like driving people and listening to music, but on the exterior i want something that barks when i Rev it up, and has a mild growl when i'm idling.

I would bet a 50 series flowmaster with a gutted cat or a hi-flow would do the trick for you. Give you some nice tone outside, and little drone. Another option could be a dynomax bullet. My brother with the f-350 runs dynomax bullets on his true dual. Has a very deep low rumble at idle and at moderate acceleration. When you are on it, that thing is the loudest truck I've ever heard, it slaps everywhere, it's deafening. But for the most part its very industrial and deep. I found it doesn't drone anything like my flowmaster though. It's just a nice deep mellow consistent tone in the tab. Even me, an exhaust lover, get a little annoyed how loud it is all the time. When I am on the highway, or when I'm going up a hill or gaining speed from a stop light, it's just REDICULOUS especially from 1600-2200 rpms. So if you hate drone, do not go with a 40 series or 44 series flowmaster muffler, they can become very intense, especially if you open the exhaust up more like i have with the gutted cat and longtube headers.

The drone isn't from the flowmaster, it's from your gutted catalytic converter. As long as he doesn't gut is his converter he should be okay with any of the flowmasters.

I somewhat agree with that. But, I did have the Super 44 rolling for quite some time before I had the cat gutted, and it was death worthy inside the cab before the cat was gutted as well. It probably wont be as intense if you dont have the cat gutted or have headers, but it will still be loud, because well...it's a FLOWMASTER

I wanna keep my stock manifolds with a magnaflow cat, so at first I wanted thrush mufflers but I heard a few on youtube and didn't like the tone, but in all honesty, my laptop speakers affect the tone immensely, so I may go with thrush, but dynomax and flowmaster seem to be the weapon of choice for mufflers.

Yeah, even with a magnaflow cat she is still going to bark. Headers only adjusted the sound a little bit, but the truck was already loud before I did anything to the cat or manifolds. I think whatever you go with, you will be satisfied whether it's dynomax or flowmaster. I don't know much about thrush though. But I know that if dynomax sounds awesome on fords, which are usually not as loud as dodges, I bet it would sound really awesome on a dodge. Goodluck with it, and let us know what you go with!

LOL well it's going great. Truck is finally back to itself. Truck sounds beautiful. Very aggressive sounding, and she really rips off that line. Even my passing power is there now. The headers added horsepower across the entire power band. I would assume it was a solid 5-10 h/p depending what powerband it was in. I would feel safe to say that h/p gains would be even more substantial with trucks with regular sized tires. I think once I can afford the lethal combo of a volant intake system and the fastman throttle body it will really open the engine up and maximize the headers and the free flowing exhaust system. Right now I have all that air dumping out, but nothing forcing more air in. It will be exciting to see what the intake and t/b do the truck

I read a post over on PS with a guy saying he got the Cherry Bomb Extremes and that it wasn't as loud as his 40 series. Have you guys actually heard them in person? I don't know who to believe as I've never personally heard them. I just know I love the Flowmaster 10 and if I wanted it extremely loud the 10 series is what I'd go with.
