intakes
im trying to find an intake for my 98 ram 1500 5.9L. ive been looking on e-bay and saw a couple that look just like the air raid intakes. i wanted to ask the experts first before i do anything rash. has anyone bought one for their truck and does it fit? is this a good idea for someone with a low budget. i mainly just want the hat that goes on the tb, cuz i plan on eventually making aCAI. this is my first dodge so im new to this engine and if anyone knows any tricks for power please let me know. any help would be much appreciated

I don't think it wousl if you got one of those sleeves that are made for an intake tube. They have the seam on top, so moisture could escape. Like this one:

$46.99 at summit...kind of pricey...

well i changed my mind. i went the round intake route. i didnt want to wait. just finished putting it on and went for a test drive. WOW! that made a huge difference. doesnt really make the noise but i can feel a difference. it also made my exhuast sound throatier. im happy with it now i just need to find either a ram air hood or some way to get fresh air on it.
