Default B&G PCM

If i order a PCM from them, am I required to send them my PCM to flash? Or do they supply the PCM. I am asking because if i shorted my PCM due to the fire, it is probably not gonna work. FOr 350 dollars you would think they supply the PCM.

Can anyone with a B&G chime in?

you supply the pcm , send your pcm to B&G , they flash it and ship it back .. in your case its time for ebay or local junk yard..or pm parts/service and he can get your a mopar performance pcm for around 265-270 bux...

I have tried:
1st- Superchips
2nd- B&G flash
3rd- Tom Fox Flash
4th- SCT with flashes from B&G and KRC

Out of all of those the B&G flash (2nd one ) was best, but................

more is understood now about both the DC programming and the SCT software to manipulate it. With SCT you can start with a canned tune, report the results( i.e. from a scanner, wideband a/f gauge, dyno, etc.) to your dealer and recieve an updated file via email. You then transfer the file onto the SCT flash device, andthen onto your pcm. This is truly the bomb. If you're going to spend money on a tune this is definately the way to go. My truck is now dialed in better than ever.

The B&G flash where you send your pcm in, no matter how much or how long you talk to Dave on the phone, is still a canned tune. It works better for some than it does for others. Its a guess, and I'm guessing that it didn't work too well for IndyRamMan.

Exactly the reason. I talked to him and asked him about what perameters he was going to put in, and how he could generate specific perameters for MY setup without a dyno, and he kept blowing smoke up my a$$ and saying dont worry dont worry iv been doing this for years, I have over 1200 setups to choose from. I didnt want to send out for a generic computer and he made me confident that I was not going to get that, when I get it back I had no list of the perameters set on the pcm like I had requested on the phone and in writing with my pcm, and the a:f is WAY off. I would have spent the extra 200 for the sct if I knew I was going to get my chain yanked by this sheister.

Get a SCT. I'll bet anything your running wayyyy rich. There isa whole lot of power locked up in the tune. Believe me. I'll send you a pm.

What is the SCT for a 1996 ram. I don;t think 96 models have the plug in under the dash for a flash device? If you guys can point me in the right direction, it would help a lot.

Right now i think i am just gonna get a new performance PCM from the dealership. Unless you guys can sway me.

Here is my setup:
Fastman 50mm
24# injectors
Edelbrock TES headers
Guted Cat w magnaflow sidepipes
MSD ignition w hyperech coil (i have quick connects to replace it to stock setup...my car won;t start with the MSD or Stock setup, i tried that to see if the box was toast).

If a SCT would get me a lot better results than the mopar pcm, then i would seriously consider. But i don;t have a scanner. And as i said, i don't think there are any that support the 1996 model.
