RE: Transmission
So what's the verdict guys? If you had my truck, and you just finished paying $4,000 for a brand new transmission, and you found out your posi is shredding metal, what do you do? Do you make it an open differential, and either leave it that way for life, or save up for it later? All kidding aside, this is pretty serious for me. You must forgive me if I'm hard pressed to laugh, but this is pretty sickening, I'm sure you guys can understand.
Also, do not underestimate me guys. I am a changed man. I have no intentions of ever romping on this truc EVER again. Especially now what I have just finished paying for, why would I want to ruin my own investment? I understand what this truck is about now, and there will be no mistakes. I want you guys to start taking me a little more serious. I'm taking you guys serious and listenting to what you guys are all saying. I'm a lot more of a mature truck owner now since I have experiened this. I just ask you guys respect me and recognize I am changed, and I plan to be a much more responsible owner, and listen to you guys. Thank you all.

RE: Transmission
Is there some kind of write-up on this forum for a job like that? Or somebody that could guide me with that. If it's something you guys think I could handle, I would really try do that myself with my brothers. You guys are right, free labor is where its at. I don't want to spend $1,000 on something right now that I don't need instantly. If I had the money, and the certainty that nothing else could go, then yeah, I'd get it, but now is just not the right time to add on anothr $1,000 after I just finished paying the transmission shop $4,033 to be exact[8D]

Hey dude, I tackled that ball joint debacle but I'm proud as hell I did it. A little help from my dad and a lot of re-reading through pavement sucks and on here, along with the right kit, and it wasn't all that bad really. Just make sure you have the right tools and references, and have the ambition. Mine was saving 800 bucks in labor! Still gotta do those Tie Rod End's though.
