Here's the update, same as it always is. He drove his truck like he was in a Ferrari, something broke, he had it fixed by a shop, they tried to rip him off, he paid major $$$, vows to never do it again.

He'll be doing it again in about a month.
You know what Reid, that just really isn't nice of you. I don't get it, you guys help me out, or at least pretend to, and then you just trash on me. How are we ever going to have forward motion if the own moderator is trashing on me? You aren't the one going through this, I'd appreciate some respect. You cannot blame me on this transmission solely. You do know some other jackass owned this truck for 6 years prior to me driving it for 7 months right? I drove like a retard, but all I did was snap the final thread of the other idiots doings... I just don't really appreciate you talking about me like that, especially from you. I'm a little dissapointed that guys help me out, and then pick on me like that, I view you guys as my buds, not my criticizers.

Well it's a money situation.

I hook up offroad alright with open differentials. and running it open is deffinetly the least expensive choice, plus it puts the least strain on your driveline and tires if you like to spin your ****.

I mean if you don't mind spending another $500 then by all means get the tru-trac. That's an awesome LSD.

But LSDs aren't that great offroad. Usually the only time you have one tire not getting any traction is because the other one is up in the air not getting traction, and LSDs don't do anything for you if there's a tire off the ground.

I was just kidding around. Thought you had a sense of humor about it by now.
Relax.

Ok, just can't tell these days with the amount of true hate I get from guys sometimes.

But anyways, what should I expect to have somebody take that posi unit out for now? I probably would never go back to it either if I got it out. I think you are right too, I really don't know if anything else is going to blow either, $1,000 deeper defiantly would not help me. I'm getting the truck out of there tomorrow. Should I have the offroad place take the posi unit out and make it an open differential. What if they try to rebuilt it? Should I just say no, and tell them I want it open so I don't ever have to worry about it? Thank You.

Hmmm, yeah posi and LSD, i dunno anything about. I do know in offroading that if you really get it at, sometimes only one tire is in the ground enough to spin cuz the other may be up in the air a little bit.

I'd just say go with whatever setup that minimizes future breakage and then build up your money, then go back in and get it offroad ready. In the meantime, you can learn how important that part was or wasn't, and still have the money if you want it fixed later.

and I think Silver was just playing around, because I'm sarcastic as well and probably would have said something like that.

But yeah, my 2wd is holding up pretty well. Just gotta do that full tune-up with a belt and get some new shocks. The tranny runs weird in the cold though, so I think I'd like to swap out the fluid to Mopar +4 to give that a shot.

Well, there's my 2 cents.

I don't think it would ever happen, because padodge would never do such a rediculous thing.

But honest man I think you could take the posi unit out yourself, maybe with your brothers help or whoever and put the open carrier in by yourself. Open carriers are cheap, and free labor is the best kind.
