You should just leave that truck at the dealership, and trade in for something from their used car lot and never look back.

Question for you that I don't quite understand. When you left the trans shop, and it was running funny and making trans noises, why didn't you just do a u-turn and head right back to their shop? Sounds like you headed to the car wash instead. I think your just wasting your money at the dealership. The trans has a warranty, why not use it? I just don't get it.

Well I took your guys' advice, and I got my truck the **** out of that dealership this morning. They only charged me $50. Then I drove it back to the transmission shop (barely), and went in with my dad. The guy at the front desk wanted to drive it, so me and him hopped into the truck. He drove around the parking lot just flooring it around the industrial park. He kept asking me, you don't think this thing has power? You dont think its shifting good? I told him to take it on the highway so he knew what I was talking about. So we did, and the stuttering got really bad. He kept saying it was my enigne though. Guys, the truck feels like it has NO POWER. And it needs to be taken out of overdrive to even get up to normal speed, it's all over the place. My old transmission, I never had to touch the OD button. I know this truck has a ton of power, and now it feels like someone is just like hooking chains up to the back and pullin the truck back as the gas is being hitten. He was looking at me like I'm crazy, I was like guy, you don't feel that huge drag? I was like try to spin the tires, bet you can't. He floored it, and it was a joke. The truck couldnt spin them if it tried. I've never experienced this "engine problem"...EVER. Anyways, we brought it back to the shop and we all talked. My dad said he noticed it had a big drag as well. My dad said when he test drove the truck wehn I first bought it he said he was stunned how much power it had. He said he defiantly notices the lack of power, and the bad shift points.

Here's my oyther questions guys. Would they have to disconnect my y-pipe to get my transmission in there? I noticed the tranny sits right between the headers. I hear a ,lot of noise coming from the floorboards, do you think it could be an exhaust leak from them taking the y-pipe apart and not sealing it correctly? I mean it's an intense noise coming from the floorboards. He said it's exhaust, I thought it was the transmission. Anyways, we all talked. They said they are going to look at what's causing the "engine skip"...and they are going to recalibrate the speedo, and adjust the valve body and shift points. I know he knows there is something wrong, he's not going to just say Im right. He had a look like he knew...so we're gonna let them deal with it, because like you guys said, theres a warranty on it. He asked me did I have a time frame on the truck. I answered no, I said you guys can have it until it's running perfect. They know what they did, I just dont know what it is. They can have a blast with my baby until they figure it out, because I'm not leaving the alone until it runs like it used to....period. Thanks guys for the advice to get the truck out of the dealer....so the waiting game shall continue...sweet.

The shuttering could be a missfire or a transmission problem. Is the tranny still whining? That sounds like just a transmission issue.

Yeah, no **** huh?! But that noise that was coming intense from the floorboards, I thought for sure it was the transmission. It sounded like an intense type writer. I'd never heard the noise before, so I assumed it was the tranny. When he took it out, he was like playing all dumb like, you hear it? I'm like yes, he's like what noise, I don't hear it. I'm like that that right there man, and he's like, nope that is exhaust. And I was like ok, well if it's exhaust, it's never done that before. So when I got home I started thinking maybe they cut into my y-pipe when they put the new tranny in...I mean when I was under the truck when it was on the lift Monday, I noticed the transmission sits right between the collectors of the headers. Think they would have had to cut into my y-pipe/exhaust to get the tranny out and put the new tranny in?? I'm kind of hoping that's what it is, because it's very loud inside the cab, like this annoying type writer, and it gets louder and louder as you go faster....just a thought though. I don't know if its the exhaust or tranny, but I hope it's something simple like the exhaust leak....anyway, I just hope they fix the damn thing. As of now, that truck is very underpowered...I drove that damn truck for months and that thing has just had an excess of power...now it sounds like the jet-ski impression kevin james made in his comedy skit awhile back lol. Anyways, just a thought about the noise. But the truck is defiantly underpowered right now, and stuttering all over the place...hope they can just fix whatever it is. Thank god I didn't let them do that ****ing lsd job...

Ask them if they cut your y pipe in order to install your tranny if you think they did. Check for new welds that you don't recognize from before. And it never hurts to put the parking brake on, put blocks in front and back of the tires, and get your butt under the truck while it's idleing and see if the sound comes from the exhaust while the truck is in park. If so, you got a exhaust leak. If not, make sure the truck is in place and have someone rev up and hold the engine at a higher rpm while your under there to make the sound easier to find. If you find no noise, it's probably coming from the tranny when it's egaged.

And if they did cut anything, have their butts patch up their shotty job because the truck didn't have that issue until it left their shop in which they were responsible for it to be fixed; not loaded with new problems.

Yeah does it make the noise when just revving it in neutral? An exhaust leek should do it then too unless it's rattling when driving and hitting the floor boards.

And just out of curiosity, have you found what kind of fluid they put in it? That is the absolute first place to start when diagnosing these trannies since they're not designed for use with anything else. if you have an 01, you shouldn't have anything less then genuine ATF+4
