Transmission***UPDATE
you just ask for it....i dont know anyone else on here that has as many people say out of no where that your dumb or they dislike you or whatnot... just stop trying to give people a reason.
You might be an awsome person in real life...but here, and with cars....your definately not. My suggestion is to find another hobby thats good for you. Maybe checkers in the park?

It's just weird that ALL of this is happening to you, while no one else seems to be having a problem of that magnitude. I'm not knocking you or anything, it's just crappy. See, my worst problem is probably my plenum or cat, all typical problems. But you, have this mess of a truck right now. And sometimes it seems like you don't read what some people are writing, but then again if you don't know what your talking about, you can only do what you feel best. I took my trans shop that my dad had taken the Nova to get it's transmission repaired, and they did a 700 rebuild and it ran for years, until i snapped two flywheels in it, the second leaving it parked until I sold it. What kind of prior personal experience did you have from these guys? Auto tranny's are never fun to work with, because one little part gone wrong can cause all kind's of consequences. Everybody knows that, so you really need to trust the people you work with, which seems like you did. That's why you need to take it back ASAP. The guy test driving it, may have only tested to see if it functioned. I know my personal shop takes their transmissions down a rural road, and open them up to assure a good job, maybe your shop doesn't have that luxury of a close by road. You can only test so much in the parking lot. Taking it back to them, telling them your expierence on the road, can better help them to fix their problem. No auto business want's bad business, and if they're anything worth a business license, they'll correct this problem for you. If they don't you have other options that include the BBB (better business bureau) and informing them of the lack of effort put into your transmission and the malfunctions caused thereafter. You have taken your truck to prior mechanics that should be able to vouche that there was no prior engine problem until NETrans got ahold of it. May not hold up well, that's where you and your own references need to come in and take a stance.
I know I'm writing half an essay, but I feel for ya because I myself am a novice to this, but don't freak out too much. The fact you haven't lit your truck on fire to collect the insurance money shows you mean well at the very least.

Sheeze. I guess I'm just lucky. Whenever i find that I break something on my truck, I'm too broke to pay someone to fix it so instead I just wind up reading alot about it and fixing it myself with the occasional tip or extra hand from locals... Maybe instead of dumping money into your truck the next time you feel the urge, you can go and get some tools. Might be a good investment. Sears has a good sale every here and there, check em out.

I gotta say you are a trooper for this , keep us posted .. im trying to see this from your point and it would scare me , and be pissed with basic knowledge , but every 1 gots to learn some how.. did you ever down load the xmas pdf ?? that has alot of info and gives you an idea how things work , hell go to your local parts store a chilton book on your truck...
Don't sweat it.
As with all Internet forums this place has it's share of a$$holes.
You're an easy target because your honest about your situation.
Most of these guys wouldn't own up to their *** upsand there are a few with no business giving you a hard time. A few of the 'experts' here have had their own problems and some of the questions asked by these 'experts' are some real basic sh*t.
Don't let the haters bring you down.

Perhaps I do ask for it. I know I over react a lot. Part of it just comes from pure frustration that I have no ****ing clue what to do sometimes. I don't ever really have time to or the knowledge to be doing these weird kind of jobs either. Like the header situation, I had no idea what the issue was, a novice couldn't fix that, so I had to rely on mechanics to do the job. A transmission, again, completely out of my league. If we're talking like balljoints, tire rods, drag links, changing tires, those are the kind of projects that you can take your time with and the stakes aren't too high, it's just simple straight forward procedures. But with a transmission, it's overwhelming. I dont know **** about transmissions. All I know is that 4 weeks ago my transmission died on me, and I had to make a decision to put a new transmission in. I took a big loan out, and I paid big bucks to have a heavy duty transmission installed. Wouldn't you all be sick to your stomachs' if you just finished the header ordeal, and then had to deal with this crap? I'm not asking for anyone to like me, some of you guys do, some of you don't, and some of you just want to help. I don't think theres anything wrong with being a novice though. I learn more and more everyday, and I know more than the average person. I've just had some really badluck with this truck. It's all been **** a novice couldn't learn about. Transmissions, and weird header complications aren't the bestjobs for someone like me to be troubleshooting with. As I said, if you don't like me, you don't have to tell me, you should feel satisfied with the **** I'm going through as payment enough. If you want to help me that's awesome, you guys know I always can't thank you enough. I'm polite to everyone here, and I treat everyone with respect, always. After I get this transmission ordeal settled, **** is going to be settled back down. But some of you aren't putting yourself into my position enough. If you were new to this crap still, and you had to go through this ****ty of winter like I have, you'd know why I'm so damn jumpy all the time. Since December 25th, when my entire tire fell of my truck, I've dealt with nothing but ****. The tire incident, the headers incident, and now this incident. A lot of crap. I've never said I hate dodges, and I've never cried about it. I've been a man about all of this crap. The only thing I've lacked, is pure knowledge. Some of you guys think I don't listen, but that's silly. It's all I do is listen to you guys. I was the one who took my truck out of the dealer because of you guys. I don't know why some think I don't listen, but I do the best to listen. I can't do everything everyone suggests. It's my truck and I have to deal with reality here. I'm the guy that's been running back and forth all winter long dealing with smucky mechanics. I can assure you guys, when this **** is done, I am tackling any mechanical jobs myself. The plenum job, the universal joint, you name it. But some **** isn't realistic. I'm doing the best I can to deal with this. I've got it back at their shop, there is really nothing more I can do right now.

01Dodge, I think you underestimate your abilities. You panic too much and worry that you can't fix things yourself, and you end up costing yourself more in the long run (a lot more). I think you could surprise yourself how much you could do yourself if you just dove in and gave it a try. Maybe not a transmission, but you definetly could have done something as simple as the headers for example. Worst case scenario is that you get stuck, and if the knowledgable folks on the forums can't help you, then you take it to a shop. But odds are, you'd be fine, and never need to waste your money at a shop at all.
You ask a lot of advice on here, but i agree with Indy, you rarely take any of the advice given. I still feel sorry for your unfortunate luck, but I think it could have been avoided, and a lot of guys on here gave advice on how to do that, but it was ignored. I really hope it works out for you though.

definately. 01dodge, do you have a good set of tools? If not, do yourself a favor and invest $200 on a good 150 piece tool set. It will have most of everything you could really ever want to get the job done. Its the best investment Iv ever made. $200+maybe another $500-1000 on speciality tools and iv saved myself probably a good $15,000-20,000 on labor bills for 4 cars. Dont worry, were all f'n retarded the first time. Hell, the first thing I ever did to a car was to install a k&n fipk on his durango and it took us 9 hours! The next thing was a 4 hour oil change.....you just have to build your skills. Just like all things it doesnt come overnight, unless your a mechanical genious...sorry to say you dont appear to be.
