ROYAL PURPLE!!

RE: ROYAL PURPLE!!
From the looks of things, I would say to go with WIX filters. I've never used them before but every time I get an oil filter I'm always trying to find one that has more potential to remove smaller sized particles. Regular Fram filters get down to around 40 microns, Fram Tough Guard filters get down to 20 microns, K&N gets down to 10 microns, Amsoil gets down to 15 microns, and Wix filters get down to 10 microns. Next thing to consider is price and durability and when it comes to that, all one must do to find the best is check the standard warranty on the product. From what I've seen though, for the filtration, durability, and price, Wix is tough to beat.

Anyone who doesn't change their oil for 25,000 miles is, to put it politely, really misguided.
Not saying Amsoil isn't better than Royal Purple, and I'm not saying Royal Purple is better either. I haven't done enough research myself to make a choice yet. For now, I'll just stick with my Mobil 1.

Not so sure about the alternator, but I'm sure it will help save wear and tear on the starter, charging system, and battery.

dusty,
My name is Dustin, been nicknamed "Dusty" by quite a few people, so everytime I read someone responding to you, I think they are addressing me by name, LOL.
Anyway, glad to hear your truck runs better with the Synthetic. The quicker start may help save your alternator in the future?
