Default SOB...a little help (steering stabilizer)

So I got my stuff from Jegs and I went out today to put my new steering stabilizer on...couldn't the flippin old one off! I got the bolt out and disconnected the passenger side. Got the nut off of the driver side connection, but it wouldn't come out of the arm that it attaches to... I beat the **** out of it, but it never would budge. Finally I just said f it and put the passenger side back on. I left the nut off of the driver's side in hopes that it will just pop loose... How the heck do you get it to slide out???[:@]

I thought about the heat, but I don't have any source for it. That could be it...it's been pretty cold here. You think a heat gun would do? A guy at work has one of those... If it comes down to it, I'll grind that b*tch off.[&:]

The heat gun, or one of them propane torches would help out but you will probably still end up beating your brains out

I would suggest grinding anything off because it will still be stuck in there, atleast when its all there you have something to slug on with a hammer

Its a wedge fit on purpose to avoid wobbling. I used a pitman arm puller, but the auto parts store guys also said use a BFH but you need to hold a second hammer against the backside or else the steering linkage just absorbs the blow and does nothing to the bolt.

Just go buy a $15 pitman arm puller or rent one. Worked fine.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm sure heating it up would help, too. I'll try again tomorrow.
