Started yesterday , the trans would not shift into overdrive , then today it started slip bad run hot the overdrive light came on and the CEL ... Thats right rebuild time.... lucky me !!!!! Now its time to drop HD parts in... trans lasted 134,000 miles.. soon ill have a brand new old truck !!!! LOL...4 weeks till its done..

 

You should check out the APS or Dr. Evil trannys.

I feel sorry for you as I know how much I didn't like going without my truck while mine was sitting.

 

Mine is sitting in the garage with a sick tranny.. driving to work is now a chore.. cant get it into a shop until next week.. then its gonna take a week or so [>:]

 

Been there done that.
make sure they flush the coolers really well. When they burn up the clutches, thefragments and clog the coolers.

 

The mechanic here said he wouldn't flush it he would only do it if I replaced the cooler. That wasn't the one I got to it but the other shop seemed to like the idea of replacing it too. I had them flush the system then install a B&M cooler to replace the factory cooler.

Frenchy's truck isnt bone stock, he has done many mods to it, quite a few of them being very unique, albeit not as many as you pa, and maybe not as many performance mods. But, TOTM is not based on mods, it is based on many other factors as well. For example, I was in ROTM over at camaro forums for March, and got blown out even though I had the most modified ride, hands down. Personally I think I should have gotten more votes[>:], but hey, the forum spoke lol. Btw, Frenchy now has a 1-5 record for TOTM, lmao.
