peddle to the metal;is this right
from a dead stop,i floor it, rpms go to about 3000 truck takes off, rpms rise alittle then back to about 3000,then starts to climb.now this all happens very fast.its like it gets put under a good load at that point,i could hear it.
My truck used to do that too for as long as I owned it, but at a lower rpm, like just off idle. I believe it was the PCM torque management. It went away completly on my truck when I got my B&G PCM with TM removed.
At 3000 rpm though, I think you might have a different issue. When was the last tune-up?

Disconnect the negative battery terminal for a minute (some say 30 seconds, I like to make sure). Then reconnect. That resets the computer.
It'll take approximately 40 miles-ish before the computer relearns its stuff.

Yes, you should disconnect the battery, then turn the ignition key to start for about 25-30 seconds. This drains the memory module in the PCM, and all remaining electrical current is discharged. Then reconnect.
alright, silver to the rescue, that is the one ive herd the most so ill go for it.i have gotten an emisions notice in the mail should i reset the pcmbefore or after?
