I got this in an e-mail just now. With the gas prices out here at $3.75 a gallon, and a 26 gallon tank, I'm just under $100 to fill. And It lasts me maybe a week. I'm so over it. Thats an average annual fuel cost of $4800, what happened to the $1446 my build sheet claims. That means gas prices have gone from around 1.15 to 3.75 in seven years, ahhhh!

We need to take some intelligent, united action.The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt'
ourselves by refusing to buy gas. it was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.BUT, whoever thought of this idea has come up with a plan that can really work.

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.19 for regular unleaded in my town.
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us
to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the
marketplace..not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we
can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How?

Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.& nbsp; But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY
gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and
MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers.

It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at east ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION
consumers. If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends
each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people.

That's all!

If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am so trust me on this one.How long would all that take? If each of us send s this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days !!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!

I hate the way gas prices have gone

ther is no real reason for the price hike.

There are no lines at the gas station like back in the 70's when THERE WAS a crisis.

This is all bull kaka, the only way to stop oil prices from going down is to socialise the oil industry.

 

Don't get me started on socialization. Thats a load of horse crap.

Look at Europe. If you want socialization here, take a good hard look at their super high taxes, how sluggish their economies are, and how crappy their health care systems are.

Socialization replaces problems with different, bigger problems, it doesn't solve anything.

I got at least a partial solution to the oil prices. Break up OPEC.

 

There are three reasons for the price of gas. In no real order they are

1 The Dollar has lost 25% or more of its value to the rest of the world. Don't go on vacation in Europe right now you can't afford it. Oil is paid for in dollars so if oil was $60 a barrel the lose of the dollars value makes it $75. Remember OPEC ships us Crude oil which comes to the next prob.

2 Refinery capacity. Do you know how many decades it has been since the US built a new refinery? Every refinery is running at +90%.One barrel of oil does not make one barrel of gas. The oil companies are now paying almost $2 a gallon for crude. IF the damn tree huggers would lighten a little may be the US could build some power stations & refineries. OPEC can ship us all the oil in their ground but if we can't make it gas what good is it.

3 China & India. They are getting rich from selling us cheap toys. What do people who get rich do?? Buy cars and better food. China & India have doubled their importation of OIL. Along with a lot of other natural resourses. Watch the price of food is going to go up big soon. And lumber and iron ore, etc. A lot of poor countries are worried about the price of rice.

Of course there are other reasons and greed is one of them.

Soooo I've been doing some research , i dont know why the US doesnt invest some into these technologies to lighten up on our dependancy of foreign oil and thus in general dropping the price of oil? Doesnt the US have tons of coal? Just thinkin' is all :-)

If the good folks in theUSA think they're paying a premium for gas, we're paying the equivalentof $4.50 a gallon for regular gas in Canada right now ($1.19/Litre) and closer to $5 a gallon for diesel. ($1.33/Litre). We have the worlds second largest oil reserves, second only to Saudi Arabia,buried in the tar sands of northern Alberta and I used to live not 5 minutes from Chevron's largest refinery north of the 49th, but somehow we still get raped at the pump.I need the truck for work, so going out and buying a civic is not an option. It cost me $114 to fill my truck yesterday which should lastme 3-4 days if I'm luckyand yet somehow I still have to put food on the table. I hear your pain guys.

 

WHat about that e-85 ethanol? I saw a program on the tube the other night about how the only problem with it is converting all of todays cars over to it. They said all it would take is to replace a few hoses and some fuel filters. Has anybody else heard of this or was it another late night program blowing smoke up our asses?

 

I say we take up arms and just take Canada over for thie oil....I am TOTALLY joking by the way.

Gas sucks...complain then either drive less or walk...that all we can do.
